MEET OUR PRODUCER
Mensur Abahika is a coffee producer from Kota Kebele, in the Gomma district of Jimma Zone, western Ethiopia: a region where coffee is not just a crop, but a way of life.
Together with his wife, Nesru Aba Nura, Mensur grows and processes coffee on their family farm using traditional knowledge passed down through generations. Coffee is harvested with care, selected by hand, and processed with patience and attention to detail.

Mensur works with Ethiopian heirloom varieties 74110 and 74112, producing both washed and natural coffees, depending on the harvest and seasonal conditions. Each step of the process is guided by experience, careful observation, and respect for the land.
The farm is located high in the Jimma highlands, at elevations between 1,950 and 2,200 meters above sea level. At this altitude, coffee cherries ripen slowly in cooler temperatures, allowing flavours to develop gradually, resulting in coffees with clarity, balance, and depth.
This strong connection between place, process, and people is central to why we chose to work with Mensur’s coffee for Ezu’s Cup Coffee.
